Though the art of pictorial story telling can be dated back to our cave dwelling ancestors, the true blossoming of children's literature wasn't until the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, when new developments in technology and changing attitudes towards childhood brought it into a golden age. As such, many of us grew up with fond memories of children's classic stories such as "Alice in Wonderland," "Hansel and Gretle," "The Little Little Red Hen," and "Grimm Fairytales."
The Spirit Room asks artists to choose a character from a classic fairytale and depict them as you interpret them to be in any medium of your choosing.
