Nancy Ness and Dennis Krull
Efflorescence
“Efflorescence,” is a collection of colorful pieces celebrating natural beauty and harmony of nature.
Nancy Ness is an acrylic and oil painter specializing in non-objective art. Ness creates colorful and often large-scale pieces that can be found in the homes of collectors and in commercial buildings all over North Dakota. Ness has been a premier member of Gallery 4 since 2018 and enjoys the community found within the gallery. She is an active member of Fargo Moorhead Visual Artists, The Art's Partnership, the Red River Watercolor Society and serves on the Art Committee for EPIC Events in West Fargo.
Dennis Krull is a Midwest based Encaustic artist, using abstracted imagery and clear, bright colors to create his artwork. He began working as a photographer with Encaustic to work with his photography, but when he started using encaustics, he became enticed by the process. He has told many that it is like being a painter and sculptor at the same time.
The closing reception will be in person. For those friends not ready to join us we will be broadcasting our artist talk via Facebook Live followed by a walk through of the exhibition.
“Efflorescence” is made possible through funding in part by North Dakota Council on the Arts and the Arts Partnership.

Fargo Public Library Presents:
Ali LaRock and Gretchen Bederman
“The Layers Within”
Ali LaRock and Gretchen Bederman’s “The Layers Within,” is a multidimensional exhibition or paintings, clay, and encaustics inspired by poetry, music, and the complexities of life reduced to child-like whimsy.
Ali Larock grew up in New Town, North Dakota and graduated from Minnesota State University of Moorhead with her Bachelors in Fine Arts. Ali is a founding and active member of the Bismarck Downtown Artist Cooperative, where much of her art is on display. Her work can also be found at the Toasted Frog in Bismarck and the Hotel Donaldson in Fargo. When not exhibiting her work she often hosts art classes, participates in artist residencies, and is available for live painting performances.
Gretchen Bederman is a delightful vagabond who was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Having graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Masters in Fine Art she has often made Mandan her home. Her work can be viewed at the Bismarck Downtown Artist Cooperative, Toasted Frog Bismarck, Hotel Donaldson Fargo, and on her website gretchenbederman.com.
“The Layers Within” is made possible through funding in part by North Dakota Council on the Arts and the Arts Partnership.

Please join us at Choice Financial for Brett Lysne’s “The Lower Forty-Eight,” a highly detailed collection of ink illustrations exploring the social and political ills of contemporary America.
Brett Lysne was born in Fargo and raised in Crookston, MN. Having obtained his Master’s in Fine Arts from Washington State University he made his way back to Minnesota, taking up residence as a drawing and printmaking professor at Minnesota State University of Moorhead. Wishing to explore his love of cartography, Brett has painstakingly planned and detailed each piece in his exhibit. Stuffed with overgrown gardens of jumbled and nonsensical data, ripe with coded representations of the American political landscape, he strives to overcome his own “recurrent addiction to the news cycle, all while attempting to commune with the fear, fatigue, and burnout of those around me.”
Brett Lysne has exhibited work throughout North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Massachusetts, and Washington at galleries including: Plains Art Museum, Windy Hill Gallery, Roy M. Chatters Newspaper and Printing Museum, University of Massachusetts, and many others.
“The Lower Forty-Eight” is made possible through funding in part by North Dakota Council on the Arts and the Arts Partnership.
